Idk about the "divide" but racial tensions are certainly the highest they've been since the 1980s. Easily.

Racism only exists where a populations normal demographic begins to shift rapidly, especially where the minorities are reproducing at an increased rate relative to the majority. The situation is worsened where there is a recent historical conflict where the minority was mistreated and segregated.
Racism is mostly present in the south where diversity is prevalent.
How much of the current televised racial conflict is generated from Vermont or Maine?
Races will have to learn to coincide, especially in states like Texas where hispanics will account for majority of the states population by 2050. Either that happens, or some type of war is inevitable.

I blame it on the unwed birthrate being so high. You are now hitting third generation kids whose moms themselves have no idea what a father or two parent home is. Snowballs into less discipline, more problems, more crime, and more school problems. We removed the discipline from the schools so they don't get any real structure at school either.

This is the main problem. We pay people to have kids out of wedlock. Another baby is simply a bigger check on the 1st and 15th. Generations grow up thinking this lifestyle is acceptable.

Worse. Official at Department of Public Safety who handles their youth and juvenile programs told me that he is now seeing grandmoms under the age of 30. He says these are kids who have no clue how to be a parent and the person they should be able to look up to for role modeling is still a kid.
