or maybe not away from LA, just to a different location in LA less likely to flood.

Thoughts with everyone down there.

Aside from the floods, hurricanes, corruption, shitty roads, poor education, miserable summers, 7-9 Saints seasons, and losing to bama every year, it's a pretty nice place to live.

They could move to Arkansas, but they've gotten used to having electricity.

Did I hear correctly that some of the areas flooding have never seen a flood?

It's a 100 year flood event. I even heard that there are reports of it being a 500 year flood event.

There isn't a place in the US that is immune to some form of natural disaster.

I find it hard to believe that any place in LA near the MS River has never flooded

Never may be a strong word, but hasn't it been a century or more?

I didn't flood and never have, but I really want to move away. The problem is my wife's family is here and she's not willing to go. At one point we had a deal that if we had to evacuate one more time after Ivan, Katrina and Gustav, she'd move with me elsewhere. Based on the eco-alarmists' predictions, I figured I had it in the bag. Still here.

Every place has natural disasters, you just have to choose which natural disaster you're ok dealing with.
