Geez, for that money just stay married.

I haven't. My guess is they will be sufficient to get you divorced given the right set of circumstances. There is no way, imo, they will be able to ask all of the right questions to make sure you are adequately informed and protected. It seems to me this is too big of a decision with lasting impact to leave to legal zoom.

Divorce in LA can be tricky. I'd proceed with caution--hire an attorney.

To be honest, with how messy divorce/domestic relations law can get, it is probably better to go to an actual attorney. Yes, it might be more expensive, but there is a better chance that it gets done correctly. Unless you have the most cut and dry uncontested divorce that doesn't involve kids or complicated assets, I wouldn't use something like Legalzoom.
If you're in Louisiana, I would imagine domestic relations law is weird and complicated, particularly on division of property. That's not a knock at Louisiana, it is just a known thing that some areas of Louisiana law are notoriously complicated and different from surrounding states.

Tell us more about the divorce. This sounds messy and trashy

It is not often someone posts the second dumbest decision of their life on the OT.

For $500, you can get a cheap attorney.

I used them to register a trademark. Nobody ever tried to steal it so I don’t know if it “worked” or not lol

No kids, no property, nothing to split, uncontested.
