Coke has gone woke. DEI is more important to them than satisfying the consumer. They’ve lost a lot of good leadership in the last seven years due to focusing on the wrong things

Prices are determined by supply and demand you moron. In this case, the supply of money has increased, so its price relative to other goods has decreased (inflation).

You realize the manufacturers were claiming the increases were based on the cost of their goods? Their claim, not mine.

My point was and remains that the costs of the raw goods (aluminum and plastic) have not increased at the rate the prices have gone up.

Plastic is up some, aluminum more, but they have not doubled, nor would that account for the full amount of the increase even if it had assuming all other things remained roughly unchanged (wages, ad costs, etc).

So if the costs haven't increased at the same rates the prices have increased what does that leave for the business? Increased profit taking.

Would you like five articles outlining how food related manufacturers are seeing record profits due to raising prices and blaming it all on covid or would you just prefer to take my word for it?

Fall of 22 you could get a 2 liter Coke, Pepsi etc for around $1.00. This last year they jumped to around $3.00 per 2 liter. Not sure what caused the jump but I don't drink it as much as I did.

At our Kroger, they were $8 per 12-pack...but buy 2, get 3 free. They want you to buy lots of soda, still.

But why shouldn't the business do this if it increases profits?

I live in Berlin and now that I read this, I wonder if that happened here. I don't remember seeing Pepsi products the last few times I was in my Kaufland grocery store. Next time I'm there, I will pay attention to see if this is so.

I routinely patronize 3 different grocery stores in my area and what I have noticed is that the aisle that the soft drinks are on stays fully stocked.
Their product is not selling as it once was in the past and Citizens are cutting back on everything but the essentials , and in some cases they are cutting back on the essentials .

How will this end ? I think it will get rougher .

Sorry, I don’t do carbonated drinks. My doctor told me to stay away from carbs. And I had to give up my hobby of rebuilding vintage automobile engines.

For starters.....Deviled Ham , Vienna sausages.....Ragu Old World (tomato water in a jar)......anything Crystal Light. No one should be subjected to any of those.

Well in all honesty I doubt anyone of us could. What the hell they gonna pay for it with? Dead flies or the elephant dung?

Makes perfect sense.

It’s a Coke product.

I don't drink soda anymore but the wife is addicted to Diet Coke; what we found works for us is she has a sip and save through Circle K for $10 month, 1 large 64 oz. drink per day. That's enough for her and we don't have to worry about our kids consuming drinks like they are going out of style.

We do that largely because we have a Circle K at the entrance to our neighborhood so she stops after work to get her fix.

Corporations have been raising prices to rake in more profit under the cover of inflation. This is pretty well known.

Companies are going to price gouge us into a recession/depression, then hold their hand out to the government when the shite hits the fan for a bailout.
