Yes...used to have one work as security at a place I worked in Houston. He only did it on weekends. Seriously looked like John Wayne, was prob 6'5 and wore the cowboy hat....you did not mess with him.

Saw one at the Bass Pro Shop in Katy once. He looked like a stereotype....lean, big arse white cowboy hat, big arse sidearm. 1 riot, 1 Ranger looking guy.

I also met Chuck Norris in the DPW airport one time. Nice guy.

through my years practicing law i've met 4 Rangers and got to know all of them...1 of which is now a very good friend of mine.

very professional outfit...their commissioned through the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

and yes, all of them wear cowboy hats and boots.

Nowadays, yes

Back then, not so much. Even got the ranger star on it.

Well, it's good that he served much before that time.

I've met him. He's an old school bad arse, but he doesn't believe in high capacity magazines. I was torn on how I feel about him.

Most definitely. Gideon Walker was also cool, but Jake Spoon fell into a bad bunch, and they had to hang him.
