Antiwar demonstration, Seattle, 1970. Cops stirred a hornet's nest with maybe 20,000 on hand, chaos and riot ensued: gas spray canisters, billy clubs, sirens, paddy wagons, helicopters, rock throwing, orders to disperse, cops in full riot regalia, media everywhere, ambulances carting wounded protesters off to jail ... our group loaded up on speed before the event, which added significantly to the paranoid disorientation of the senses. My gf and I caught a ride out of town with some Jesus freaks; it was some time before we ventured back to the Emerald City.
