Only once or twice long ago, usually a mile or two after passing broke down car on shoulder.

Not near as many around these days, too damn hot in south texas, and I'm older now and feel less invincible.

Yeah, I was super shitfaced in college and this black guy approached me in the Whataburger parking lot asking for a ride. Said frick it and he took me straight to the hood in Waco. Legit thought I was done for.

Got home, realized he had snatched my buddies wallet that he had left in my cup holder. I laughed about it later on.

Yes. She left her jacket in my car, but when I brought it back to her her mom said she'd been dead 10 years.

Probably explains the smell.

Once when i was driving through slidell on my way to mississippi, i stopped for this chick who was hitchhiking. she looked pretty hot when i passed her.

When she got to the car she was hideous. i said"where ya headed?" she said biloxi. I said oh, sorry i'm about to head north.

Twice. One was a college buddy I just happened to be passing. The other time was a middle aged woman just outside of Statesboro Georgia. Her car ran out of gas so I took her to a gas station, and back.

About a year later my car battery died and a random stranger stopped to jump the car for me. I took at as Karma and all was well.

Was living in Fort Collins Colorado and driving to Cheyenne every morning. On the on ramp one morning there was a hippie rambler kid and a dog, and he had a sign asking for a ride to cheyenne. I said frick it and picked him up and drove him an hour to a train depot in cheyenne.

I asked where he was going, and he said he would watch the trains from the overpass and see what direction they were going and then jump on one. Pretty crazy if you think about it

I was leaving Popeyes in Hammond, LA. A worker was sent home for the day bc he burned his hand and had it wrapped up, but they wouldn't let him work with the one hand for safety reasons. ( I know all of this from the yelling back and forth)

I was the only customer at the time (my friend left in a separate car and we ate inside). He caught me off guard asking for a ride home right around the corner. I couldn't think of anything to say so I obliged. It wasn't but a few miles down the road.

As we are getting close, the area started to look rougher and rougher. He told me not to go any further bc it wasn't safe for me and he would get out right there and walk the rest of the way.

That's all I have to say about that.

Then you read about a home invasion in the area in the newspaper.

Yes but it was because I happened to notice my best friend walking down I-10 because his truck had broken down.

This was in college before we all had cell phones.
