She was speaking metaphorically. Same as when The Skipper said "Women and children first" and Mr. Howell replied "Well I've always been a child at heart" and tried to sneak to safety like Ismay on the Titanic.

But that joke is only funny because Mr. Howell was so far removed from childhood that it was absurd. There is nothing absurd about Mary Ann claiming to be a child, because if she isn't one then she was one recently. It makes no sense as a metaphor but it DOES make sense as a literal statement.
She's a fricking child you sick son of a bitch. Now apologize to me and to anyone else who may have been offended by your pedoficular comments.
