Flip flops are the muscle tee's of footwear. Far fewer men should wear them just like far fewer men should wear a muscle tee.
I've long been of the belief that a well dressed adult man should not wear flip flops unless on the beach, lake, or on a boat. I can see flip flops for home wear but not out to dinner, on a date, or at the office. I know most won't agree but if you want the feel of a flip flop that actually looks ok with jeans get a pair of sanuks.
And please for the love of God, if your feet look like this, please stop wearing sandals or flip flops.
It is gross and nobody should have to observe your nasty arse feet.

I would wear flip flops and shorts every day all day if I could. Hell, I'd go barefoot. Went barefoot for 7 days at he beach earlier this year.
I wore flip flops and jeans to work about a month ago. Everyone in the office was up in arms commenting on it like I was a dumbass. Owner comes in and says "man, you look like you're ready for the weekend! Awesome!" and rolled on by.

you're catching a lot of shite, but i agree with you, it looks terrible and confusing.
and yea, i notice what other guys wear. Because I want to look presentable myself. When i see someone wearing jeans and flip flops or crocs, it tells me to never wear that combo together. Saves me the embarrassment

A flip flop is the epitome of casual lounge wear. What made you think that's the image you want to portray at work? Sounds like your co workers and boss tried to tell you it was a bad look.
