The fishing.
The ball parks. When I grew up there, youth athletics pitted neighborhood against neighborhood. You lived in Buccaneer Villa North, you played for Vista; you lived in Arabi, you played for Carolyn Park, etc. There were rivalries with your classmates at school. The system in Slidell sucks by comparison.
I know da Parish has changed since Katrina, but I relish my childhood there. I would not have wanted to grow up anywhere else. It was the best of everything.

No. Its being overrun with some bad demographics needing the cheap housing. It used to be a great culture

Best thing is you can see them coming from a long way off due to the white trash contrails.

*The wind cries as it gently shreds apart through the weeds in the vacant lots...*

Tony's is so much better than Rocky's.

If by "stronger" you mean racailly diverse then yeah, its coming back real strong.
When I was growing up down there it was well known that it was illegal to be black after nightfall unless you were down in Angelique or some other shithole down-the-road.
Areas that used to be great, family neighborhoods have all gone to shite. Not to mention the drug problem down there is outrageous.

TBH i agree with you. IMO Tony's, Todays Ketch, and Gerald's are superior
