Congrats!

I didn't go to private school in LA but sounds like a sweet accomplishment, especially judging from the folks that I'm guessing won't ever accomplish what you have.

Thanks to all of you that understand what it took to do that. I am not OT rich, not even close. Took a lot of sacrifice to do this. I had little choice as circumstances require me to live in EBR. For the record two of my kids are step children with zero help from their father so yes I am proud and gonna brag a little.

And yes, EBR school system sucks!!!

Congrats!

I have taught in Catholic schools and public schools and I can guarantee my children will never step foot in a public school.

Your sacrifices are well worth it. Your selfless decision will make one of the biggest impacts on their lives. Even if they don't appreciate it as much now, I promise they will later.

As a public school teacher, I can tell you numerous stories that I promise will ease any pain someone may feel when writing a tuition check.

I have the utmost respect for you. You are a good man. My step father made the same sacrifices to send us to private school you have with the same support from my father. Please, have a beer on me.

I went to public school my whole life

Went to college and now work with people who went to private school

At the end of the day nobody gives a shite where you went to grade school

Especially if you are a bus driver.

Just saying....

But I don't think anyone believes that no one turns out well that graduates from public school. I'm sure that there are many exceptions that turn out great. Sadly, it's the general population that is the problem.

So what's your point? I just said he is more prepared than the average public school kids. You think it's a putdown that he's going to LSU?

How have the other kids done?

The oldest, stepchild graduated from Georgia Tech With honors

My oldest child graduated in 3 1/2 years from LSU with a 3.85

Youngest stepchild presently at LSU in honors program carrying a 4.0 average

My youngest child is graduating high school with a 3.75 and has completed three college level courses with a partial academic scholarship to LSU.

I will qualify all of the above by saying I was a 2.0 average at best so they did not get it from me. Their mothers are very smart and sorry no pics.

Well done and be proud. As an East Baton Rouge Parish public school graduate in the late 70's and an LSU mid 80's with little help and the current father of a very bright, private school daughter, who will go wherever she wants on if not a free ride a ride close to it, I wish you well.

To those haters/complainers it's not a bad thing for private or public. It's what you have made of either. It is a parent that has sacrificed and is proud. And he deserves it.

Thanks Martini. The surrounding Parishes have excellent school systems so never a knock on public school as a whole. I went to public schools in EBR when they were decent. Shortly after is when they F'd them up.

Believe me I would have been thrilled to put them in public schools in Ascension, Zachary, or West Feliciana etc. Just not EBR

Outstanding and congratulations for your sacrifices..people dont understand in private schools, it's not just the money, the kids and the parents are committing to a tremendous amount of time and effort sacrifices to keep up with what is usually a higher difficulty of classes.

Let's see where the a-hole is that said you "fell for the private school trap".
