Good news for all of you with student debt.

In 10 days I will make the final payment on my student loan. The next day Pres Obummer will undoubtedly slash interest rates on outstanding student loans, if not make them all interest free or completely forgiven.

What are you talking about? He can't force privately held loan companies to forgive student loans. Is he going to have the government reimburse them?

You are to be commended for this accomplishment. My brother has a coworker who keeps working toward additional degrees by getting more student loans.
She told him she does not have to make payments as long as she does this. (I do not know if this is a true statement or not.)

Bunch of poors in this thread. Why don't you get off your lazy arse and get a job to pay for your schooling so you don't have any debt.

He MIGHT be able to cut interest rates but there is no chance of complete forgiveness.
