Grow a beard or do the 2-3 day growth thing.

i think the round rotating heads are FAR LESS irritating than that style/braun style.

I've found it to be just the opposite. But hey, everyone is different.

I have this one (though I've had a beard for a while now and don't really use it much anymore)

Panasonic Arc 3

The downside is that the shaver head is large and can be tough to get in tight spaces (though that is a problem with all electrics). The upside is that the shaver head pivots and flexes up/down along the contours of your face. I found it to be a much easier and smoother shave than the Braun I had before it. Plus, I like the foil heads better than the rotating blades. I found those tend to pull/rip hairs more often and it takes longer to shave the entire face.

Also, while you can use this one on a wet face, I find it's much easier to shave with an electric razor when your face is bone dry. A wet face tends to "grab" and pull the foils of the electric razor (completely opposite of a safety razor). I also use a talcum powder on my face while shaving. It allows the razors to glide smoothly across your face.

In the end it's all personal preference. However, I don't think the high end Brauns justify the price. You can drop down a notch or two lower and get just as good a shave. At the top line you are just paying for unnecessary bells and whistles.

Hope that helps

Your local Agency for Aging may be able to help. It's worth a call.

Fellas my hands have almost stopped working so it's hard to shave with cream and razor. I have a pretty sensitive face so Is there an electric razor out there that will not break out a sensitive face ? My wife would be using it to shave me. She can't use a razor on my face very good.

Keeton, I have one of these and it works pretty darn good. It's hard to get an electric shaver that's worth a crap, but I've had good luck with this one. I since have moved to typically just having a beard and only shaving with a blade when I do, but I still have this thing and it's still the best one I've ever used. Good news is, it's an older model now and MUCH less expensive than it once was. Best wishes to you!

This might be a viable option for you. Esp with the wife shaving you.

Best of luck sir

Braun Series 9 is what you are looking for. It's worth every penny. It shaves more quikly than the Series 7 so you generally need less passes to get a clean shave.

OP - how bout a beard trimmer. it won't be a clean shave, it will look more like a 5 o clock shadow.

however, it shouldn't irritate your skin, much, if at all.

I have the wahl lithium ion trimmer and I love it.

Panasonic makes excellent wet/dry shavers. The Panasonic ES8243A would be a good choice.

Honestly, I have tried a good number of them and they are just hell on my face/neck. I think you just have to accept the fact that they won't shave you as closely or as thoroughly as a blade. the problems come when you have to go over and over the same area while trying to get a clean shave.

the only thing that helps me is to splash cold water on my face as soon as shaving is done to knock back the razor burn. maybe your wife could slap a cold towel on you when done to serve the same purpose.

you are in a damn tough situation, man...hats off to you for staying strong in dealing with this crap.
