This. If you can't get the 8-5-8, try a Leon Jiminez, Connecticut #1. Very mild smoke and great for a beginner. As suggested previously, Davidoff smokes ( all of them) are exceptional and priced accordingly. Churchills in BR for the Davidoff, Bayou Tobacco for the others.
Enjoy.

5 vegas from cigarinternational is a good beginner cigar for around $3 a stick. Also, anything from drew estate is good.

Excellent choice. I also like what I have tried from Perdomo.

Lot of good recommendations in here. You can save money by ordering online. Keep an eye out for a starter humidor set offered at a discount. That way you can order several types and try different ones.
My go to smoke: Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur #3, maduro or Clark wrapper.
Enjoy!

Hard to keep lit but folks will know you are serious about smoking.

CAO gold
Perdomo Champagne
Oliva G
I would start off mild until you develop a palate for the different flavors...then start buying samplers and see what you like.
I like a heavier smoke and there are some great ones out there, enjoy the hobby, it can get expensive but it's hard to beat a really good cigar once you know what you like.

Drew Estate Natural Dirt torpedo. Delicious and pretty mild while still giving you that warm and fuzzy feeling. Whatever you do, don't smoke a Ruination Man'O'War. I puked for hours after that one.

I've been on a 5 Vegas binge for a while now. Lots of good sticks from them.
