I am in the market for a new driver. Been playing a old School Big Bertha for years. Distance wise I am okay but not too long (235-260). I don't necessarily care for drivers with over sized heads, and I like around 9.5 degree. Any suggestions?

I have been checking out the Cobra Fly Z drivers as I have heard good things about them and they seemed to be priced well. I have always played a Callaway but am open to change

11 handicap

I'm Rick Harrison, and this is my pawn shop. I work here with my old man and my son, Big Hoss. Everything in here has a story and a price. One thing I've learned after 21 years - you never know what is gonna come through that door.

The new Great Big Bertha is awesome.

I play Titleist myself. Still hitting the 909D3 because it finds the fairway.

Thanks. I am going to hit a few this weekend and will make sure this is one of them.

I still have my dad's Big Bertha he gave me like 10-years-ago. Not my primary driver (OG Squatch) but I'll pull it out every once in awhile.

They're great in general. May need to pick up a new one as well

Taylormade M2 is the hottest driver on the market but very pricy. I use the Ping G25 and I love it. You could get a great deal on a G30 somewhere.

Get over your 'big head' issue and by a 10.5* Ping G25 on eBay. Long, straight, forgiving. Shoot lower scores.

Taylor Made M1, very forgiving and long.

I think I will take your advice. May even splurge for the G30. They both have great reviews.

Can't go wrong with TaylorMade, Titleist or Callaway drivers. I've never liked Ping drivers. Just recently switched from Titleist to TM...longer and much more forgiving.

I agree with the guy who said the new GBB. I play a 9 with the speeder 665 shaft and love it

I would go with the M2. I found it a bit more forgiving than the M1 with just as much distance.

One thing that cannot be understated, GET FITTED. The proper shaft will result in superior distance and accuracy gains much more than a driver head will.

I've yet to find a better driver than a Ping G25 paired with a Tour AD BB 6S, perfect shaft for me, great point on the shaft fitting but that's not available to everyone.

Got the callaway ce driver a few months ago and it has been great for me. Pretty forgiving and added distance to my drivers.

Fun fact and topical to the moment.

Titanium drivers float.

Found this out when a buddy shanked a drive and tossed his driver off the tee. Walked over to pick it up only to find out there was a lake down the hill. He had to strip down to his boxers and swim in to get it. It was bobbing up and down right in the middle.

I'm in the same boat. Gaming a Cobra Amp Cell right now and want to upgrade. I was set on finding a Cobra Fly Z+ x-stiff, but it's almost impossible to find that club. Also, after doing a lot of research, it seems the new Cobra F6 and F6+ are better than the Fly Z...so I'm leaning toward a used F6 now (it's basically a Fly Z+ with a larger head). M2 would be nice, but still a bit pricey for me, even used.

ETA: best bet is to go to a golfsmith and hit every driver in the store then walk out and buy it online.

Also, R15's are a dime a dozen right now. Good bang for the buck.

That G30 smashes the ball. The mizino 750 is hot as well. I'm not a fan of the look of the titles at 915 as opposed to older models.

An earlier poster is right, if you like your old big Bertha, you at like the new one.
