If so, thoughts?

Looking at possibly playing it this summer. Would be able to play for free, but would have to drive 2 hours to do it. Trying to decide if this is worth it.

Do it. Don't even question this decision.

No, but some courses are overrated. Didn't know if this is a PGA course that is worth the accolades, and is a course that dresses itself up once a year.

It would be a 4 hour round trip drive to play. The nice thing would be it would be playing a few weeks before the tournament

I did when I was younger and dad was I'm WV on business, the course was in great shape then. Went downhill drastically and then Jim Justice bought it and made it pristine again

That being said, he is almost bankrupt and the whole place I heard is going downhill pretty quick.

They have three courses
One they redesigned and play the tour event. Another that Nicklsus designed and they once played the Ryder Cup on that one.

The Greenbrier is something special. You just can't build a facility like that nowadays.

Yeah, pretty sad stuff.

Got to meet Sam Snead though and watch him play a few holes. The man was as nice as any person you would ever meet, a true gentleman.

Played there several times. Old White is my favorite of the courses, The Greenbrier is a quality course. Courses usually reach peak condition after Memorial Day. Staying in the resort is great, only downside is you feel you have been dropped into a Lily Pulitzer store.

Some of the Saints tweeted pics of the rooms they've stayed in the last few years.

Old White FTW

There's a TPC event there in July, I believe.

Thanks for the suggestions. A little off topic, but for all the golfers on the board, I would highly recommend the citi prestige card. Great card with some great golf benefits.
