You honestly think they had any intent at all in retrieving that animal?

If they are not intending to retrieve the goat, I agree: frick them. But I really don't see any evidence either way.

But aside from that, a lot of people just seem to be mad that they're laughing that the goat fell like a thousand feet. I don't think they intended for that to happen, and their laughing to me sounds a lot more like surprise than pleasure in the animal being in pain (which honestly it's not in pain for long if indeed it survived the shot itself). They're excited to get a kill, but no ones going to mistake this for a skillful tracking and stalking job. But that doesn't make it unethical. (As long as they're using the meat and the shot was lethal and accurate, which is not all that difficult at 400yds). Again, if they intended to let the animal rot where it fell, frick those guys.

If they didn't intend for the goat to fall that far they would have been pissed that the animal was ruined, not laughing about it getting bashed to shite.

I'm not the one worried about "disrespecting" a dead goat by laughing at it and thinking that I've respected it more by eating it. The dead goat doesn't give a shite what you do to it.

This is where the projecting comes in. Have you never laughed watching a compilation video of "epic fails" where someone (unexpectedly) clearly gets hurt? It's the same thing. A lot of people's brains are wired to laugh in a situation of unexpected physical injury. Otherwise we wouldn't have epic fail videos full of kids busting their asses off of skateboards and bikes.

In most places where goats exist, you have to draw a permit for one. So for you to shoot one in the rare opportunity that you get a chance, you normally don't laugh when the animal is ruined.

You're projecting your own post-video reaction onto people who had no idea what was about to happen.
