Morning g-man

A camel was a horse designed by a committee. Good luck with that.

A hot tub not attached to a below ground pool is still kinda meh. Something I wouldn't mind a friend having and using, but not something I'd particularly like I don't think.

But for the most part I agree with you.

It's definitely in the "trashy" grey area for sure

ETA: Damnit, I wasted my 3000th post on whether something is or isn't trashy

Lost a lot of respect for you this morning. If violence and committee meetings are what you take from the sport of football, then you certainly look for the worst in everything.

It is a reference to George Carlin. And he is kind of correct.

Yeah. Over the hill parents are the worst. It's like they are all from Livingston Parish or the Westbank.

Just pure trash lovin their above ground pools.

Well I certainly didn't get the George Carlin reference, and while American Football does include violence and committee meetings, I think the positives of the sport (team work, dedication, looking out for one another, camaraderie, etc) greatly outweigh the negatives.

Not being able to walk when you are 40 is a huge positive.

Because everyone who plays football can't walk at 40...

Seriously, people understand the risks that are associated with football. With your logic, humans should stop driving cars.

I really do not think most understand the actual risks. We are learning more and more about the risks of playing football daily. Those facts are absolutely terrifying.

And could you come up with a worse comp than you did? A mode of transportation vital to modern society compared to a bloodsport for your entertainment?

It's a profession. At the amateur level, it allows people to get a free education and at the professional level, it pays very well.

I think you are taking this to an extreme seeing that plenty of ex players are fine. There is risk involved, but there are risks in a lot of things that humans do.
