At least according to a statement by one of their managers in this months GMC magazine.

I think they have done a pretty good job with this so far. From what I understand many potential GMC buyers don’t cross shop Chevrolet, and I wonder how much they even cross shop Ford. The Denali sub brand has been a success for them.

The 2019 Sierra will have almost all different sheetmetal from the Silverado, and an exlusive bed and tailgate on upper end models. I think Denali will also have unique magnetic suspension.

The Yukon Denali and Escalde seem to inhabit sort of the same space though.

Where do you come up with these random automotive thoughts?

How does it stack up size wise next to a ‘99?

GMC could position itself as a maker of spacecraft about as well as it will do this.

GMC owners are dumb. Paying for for decals/badges is about it. Y pay more for a truck ? I have a 17 Silverado LT, and it's nice for a vehicle and I use it like a truck. I bet many of these special paint trucks aren't even used properly.

I mean this whole board is full of random thoughts and sometimes discusses autos.

I never see you in any other threads whining about the topic. But I post something and you come running. Why? I am honestly curious

You keep saying this, but I don't post in most of your threads. Maybe if you didn't start so many threads, you wouldn't notice me.

You will pop up in any auto thread I start, and I don’t start that many.

People start threads about flatulence, moms, any other trivial shite and you are silent. I post something about an observable automotive topic (many of which are discussed in magazines and blogs) and without fail you show up to take shots.

Find someone else man. This is weird.

I'm into almost all auto threads. It isn't just you. You're not that special.

Get over yourself. It's kinda sad.

Much bulkier appearance, which seems to be the rage for half tons these days. Supposedly they have made changes to the bed construction techniques which increase interior volume.

The Sierras are stupid expensive. I test drove one a few years ago. Mid level not even a Denali. It was nice and had a bunch of higher tech upgrades but for high 40s I told them no thanks. Still felt and drove like a normal v8 truck despite the window dressing.

Aren't GMC and Chevy made by the same manufacturer and all the same parts basically? How could one be luxury and the other not?

GMC trucks have too much chrome and too many little trim pieces like the ones over the wheel wells. Makes it look tacky and cluttered compared to the Chevy equivalent.
