Definitely not the sexiest out there but she more than does it for me. I think it's more the "type" than just her.

Some look great in a hat......when it fits. A cute girl in a t-shirt, shorts, hat, and pony tail is a great look.

No it isn't.
It's functionality for me.
I work with kids trying to grab my hair ....pigtails keeps my long hair from getting all grimy from kid germs. I wore pigtails the entire time I was in Kenya for that very reason(they freak out when they see a woman with blonde hair and immediately want to touch your hair).
Also easy to keep up when I go camping for a few days and don't want to deal with fixing my hair.
I can sleep in the pigtails....rebraid in the am, and I'm good to go.

If they're playing ball, probably ponytail, otherwise I don't see the reason for a baseball hat over other hats, much less on a girl. I suppose I just find it strange how baseball hats have become such a part of American culture that it's the only hat people even own or wear most of their lives, or even think of when the word hat is brought up in conversation.

Yeah, I can see how every girl out there is wearing hats because of men's interest in them. 
I wear baseball hats because I'm a baseball fan, being a girl doesn't have a thing to do with it.
