The judge should be disbarred. He clearly, by his own admission, gave him a brutal sentence because he doesn't like the fact our culture is ok with premarital casual sex.
The thing is, men have been trolling for casual sex for as long as humans have roamed this planet. Technology just gives us a new medium to do so.
Is there any way he can appeal this? I can't believe what happened to this guy is legal. I've never seen a case where the family admits their wrong doing and asks the judge and prosecutor to completely drop the case and instead they throw the book at the defendant.

his lawyer is apparently going to appeal or try to withdraw the plea b/c the prosecutor said he'd be neutral but then wasn't at sentencing

ahh, I should have just read the full article first.
seems like its really fricked up that they would have to try and get it tossed on a technicality like that.

There are lots of grounds for appeal if a judge and prosecutor let their personal beliefs affect a case. This is outrageous.

Didn't this happen to some guy in BR last year? Went to bar that was either 18 or 21+. Went home with chick. Turns out she was using a fake and 16. Got busted because parents were mad.

The guy's life is ruined. Period.
Because the girl, admittedly, lied to him about her age and lied on the app about her age. The fact that she and her mother told the judge/prosecutor it was her fault and to drop the case, yet they ruined this guys life because of a moral crusade is downright disgusting. Are we living in Puritan times? Wtf?

since it never popped back up i presume the charges were never pursued by the prosecutor
