It's not about the calories. Habitual drinking will cause your body to hold water. Drink less, or not at all. Your hair and skin will look better too.

Advising him to switch to whiskey. yeah, no problems there.

Gin and beer are pretty much all I drink (with the occasional wine/sparkling).

Coat your glass in dry vermouth.. do 3-4:1 gin and olive juice.. shake until as cold as you can handle on your hands.. strain.

Be in heaven :)

Gin is hands down my favorite liquor. At upscale cocktail bars, the gin cocktails are always inventive and interesting.

I was considering cutting back on beer for the same reason.

But I upped my cardio instead. Beer makes me happy.

Drink a glass of red wine. It's even good for your heart.

Personally I like different beers for the taste and enjoy collecting from different countries. Some enjoy beer to get drunk. Neither is wrong.

Whiskey is superior to gin b.c you don't need to mix it, so calorie per drunk is more efficient.

I could easily drink gin solo

But even still, the tiny drop of olive or vermouth won't make a diff.

Water is the only thing I'll drink vodka with.

Beer in America right now is an answer to your ancestors' prayers. Getting out right now is borderline unpatriotic, IMO.

Thats a legit dry, but dirty, martini.

Martinis make me a moron though.

Nah. I like basically no olive juice. Maybe my ratio is off. I eyeball them I like the tiniest splash.

My favorite gin:

So floral.

If you are really counting calories on alcohol, you need to really look it.

But gin has more calories than whiskey. Just marginally.

granted its only 10-20 calories but that will add up.

Vodka soda for the win. I previously drank it with tonic but there was no point with the extra calories. I do love beer and wine though. Brown liquors give me terrible hangovers

That is true. If you're a drinker, you're probably having more than 1 at a time and probably more than once a week.
