GDCK was on the loose in Texas

quote:

NEEDVILLE, TX(CBSDFW.COM) — Here is something you don’t see ‘tweeted’ every day. “We can confirm we are looking for a loose 8-10' King Cobra with @TexasGameWarden off Cloudt Rd. in Needville.”

Can't believe it wasn't killed with fire and that the OT wasnt the ones that found it.

Where is the profit or point in owning and trading these snakes? I mean a damned king cobra? I heard one report that he had 20 venomous snakes on his property.

I don't see one. When I was growing up, we had a herpotologist that would go around to the local schools and put a snake show on. His GDCK killed him at home while he was trying to feed it. Just takes one bite, and you are dead.

frick if I know. I heard that this thing was loose in Ft Bend County and I was looking for a flamethrower. Good thing I didn't have to burn my house down.

King Cobras are huge fricking snakes. The biggest venomous snake. It's probably too much for even a mongoose to handle.

The venom has use for research purposes. The specifics of that goes beyond my knowledge. Also, there's the simple zoological reasons of studying different species. But too often these animals find their way into the hands of people who have no business of owning them, and they think they are just getting a pet.

It's like people who think they are going to get a puppy for Christmas with no idea of the responsibility it comes with, except in this case the puppy is a deadly animal that can kill you and endanger the neighborhood.
