Gauging attractiveness over the phone?

I deal with a lot of calls at work, and sometimes I think people have "attractive" voices, but have definitely been unpleasantly surprised when meeting customers/far away co-workers for the first time and realizing the voice does not match the face/body.
Is it just me? Or do you sometimes try to gauge a person's attractiveness over the phone?

I prefer a nice lilting laugh and airy persona rather than the raspy, 1 pack a day, redneck y'all fawn over down South.
