Man I hate everything about Jazzfest. Just not going to it myself isn't good enough, so I was pleasantly surprised by the torrential rainfall.

The mud, the heat, humidity, out of control prices, lack of adequate restrooms, the hippies... you can have all of that.

haven't been to jazz fest when it rains (or rained the day before) in a long time. Supposed to go next weekend and it looks like its going to pour. Do I need to wear like fricking boots? Will boots even help? How bad is it?

Boots are a huge plus. The mud gets disgusting and smells like dog shite and feels like it. I went into a mud hole and sunk ankle deep last year. I threw away my shoes after and bought some new duck boots

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I think I'm going to wear some knee high Lacrosse boots. Especially since it's supposed to pour Thursday. I don't feel like walking around in wet shoes. Besides, it looks like a little cold front is coming through Thursday so it shouldn't be too too hot for boots.

I went to Jazzfest once and never again. I know some people enjoy that type of thing but I thought it was a horrible experience. Everything about it was bad and I'm still not sure how people enjoy themselves.

I feel the same. Getting a drink and taking a leak shouldn't take an hour of walking over people and standing in line.

Oh you are going to be that guy. Yes none of the headliners are jazz groups. The headliners bring the crowds and pay the bills.
There are a bunch of jazz acts on the smaller stages.

I would say 90% of the acts on the other several smaller stages are locals. It's a great way for these people to be heard and make a little money.

I didn't like Jazzfest the first time I went 12 years ago, but now I know when to go and how to make it all work. Love the fest.

Yep. Rolled in with a friend yesterday and parked a few hundred feet from the entrance by the stables. Could have used his passes to sit in stands or get up close, but the crowds were so sparse, we just hung with friends mid way back

That is exactly how I feel about it. I went one time and I vowed to never go again. It was hot as hell, we got there early to get close to the stage, but that made it miserable to go to the bathroom or concessions because we had to walk over 10000 f'n people. Obviously, we are in the minority because the fest attracts 500,000 people every year and good for them. I'm glad that people enjoy it so much but it's not for me.

EHHHHH, I like jazz fest and go every year, but there have been some recent saturdays where it is an absolute nightmare to get to and from the beer/bathrooms
