One of the cables on the side snapped . What needs to be replaced besides the cable? What's it gonna cost me?

Probably not much, I had a spring break a while back and it was only around $75 for parts and labor.

You should replace both cables, it will save you another service fee when the other one breaks....

What are they making those things out of nowadays? Isn't it just like a regular rope material?

Be careful messing with those cables and springs. My shop door came out of the track. I looked at it and it looked like an easy fix just undo those two bolts from the bracket and put it back in the track. Didn't notice that the cable was also attached to the roller bracket. Holy bracket sling shot from hell when I took out the second bolt. Scared the crap out of me. Glad I didn't loose and eye or something.

Check your spring as well. This exact thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. It was around $150 for us to get the spring replaced.
