My hate for gumps is a bit blinding. I've enjoyed my stays on Alabama beaches. I prefer Places with mountains though.

And your cuisine is nothing to write home about.

It seems like the top 10 are mostly one race while the others are more integrated, that may have someone to do with it?

ETA: Except for Texas but every Texan thinks it's the greatest!

It seems as though the people in a lot of these places (particularly North Dakota, Vermont, Wyoming, Alaska, Utah and Montana) are either lying to make themselves look better, or they actually like it there.

You ever been to Utah? It's gorgeous out there year round. I mean...it was good enough to host the Winter Olympics one year.

Yeah this is so hideous...who would ever want to live here

Obviously for them it does.

Great scenic places with clear streams, clean air, cool/warm summers aren't overrated and are great places to live.

Do those numbers exclude international visitors? I didn't look up the numbers for LA but I believe the numbers for Alabama was total visitors. Do you have a link?

I'd be willing to bet that out of the 4.5 million visitors to the Alabama beaches a year 4 million of them or Alabama residents.

The other 10-15 million tha go to NASCAR, football games and play golf are also Alabama residents. So the Gumps stats are skewed.

Now you're just sounding petty over the fact you cannot accept that people enjoying coming to Alabama in similar numbers as they do Louisiana. Louisiana is a great place to visit. It's been a long time since I was there but I hope to return soon. Why is it you cannot accept that Alabama is also a great place to visit? You're honestly sounding like you're jealous over this.

I don't even know if you would be able to find that information. I'm just messing with you, because I do believe New Orleans is much more of an international destination than anything in Alabama. The last Mardi Gras I went to I met people from 4 continents, and I've met folks from all 6 of the permanently inhabited ones over the years.

None of that means that I believe Louisiana is better than Alabama, btw. Neither are in my top ten.

There's likely a correlation here involving a number of key factors like: economics, demographics, weather, politics, crime, etc.
