re: Galaxy S3 battery life is crap

gotta disable a lot of the google services crap, that's a drain. also, watch what widgets you use, they can be a huge drain. I always shut down the apps when i close the phone as well

ETA: there's also a power saver option that helps.

Hallelujah. I used to have a hell of a lot of battery time. Right now, I've had it off the charger for 3 hours and it's at 70% ON POWERSAVING MODE.

10% an hour. Damn. It used to be good.

re: Galaxy S3 battery life is crap
I've still got an S2 and the battery life is really my biggest complaint. I have found though that if I turn off bluetooth / GPS services while I'm not in the car that it tends to last quite a bit longer.

re: Galaxy S3 battery life is crap
i have both the S3 and the Note 2. The bigger battery in the Note 2 has made a huge difference. As long as I'm close to 55% at the start of the day, i can generally make it all day with full use without it dying.

re: Galaxy S3 battery life is crap
I had the S2 and the S3. The battery life was not very good on either.

I have the S4 now and it is a huge leap forward as far as battery life goes.

bluetooth / GPS services

These were killer for me, disabled BT when I'm not in the car and the battery life had a significant amount of time added.

I have had the same problem. The battery life was good for probably the first 6 months or so then it went to shite. I looked it up a few weeks ago and there seems to be an issue with the 4.1.1 update.

got to Settings/developer options/window animations.

Set to 0.5

do the same with transition animation scale.

Web browsing will be twice as fast and will help out with battery life.
Try it and report back.

My screen is using 34% of my battery. Is that the normal number for everyone else, or do I have something crazy going on with mine?

Very normal. Actually, if anything else uses more juice than your screen, you probably have a problem.

basically your turned off the animations when opening a window, the app drawer, anyhting that involves "pizaz"

also download the [link=(snapdragon battery guru)]https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xiam.snapdragon.app[/link]. love this app, saves a ton of battery. it is made by the qualcomm (makes the processor) and def works!

if you have sprint, and you CAN connect to wifi, turn off your 3g (mobile data) you will see a huge difference. sprint sucks down here and when you are constantly searching for a signal (even if you are connected to wifi) it drains quickly.

I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.1.1. My battery will last about 2 days w/ light usage.
