My front load washer is about 6 years old and recently started filling with water between washes. It takes a few hours but the drum will be about half fill after sitting overnight.

Research online says it's the water inlet valve, and most videos seem to show my washer model (Whirlpool Duet). Nobody has the part in stock. Some posts also indicate you can clean it up by cycling some CLR through the valve and it fixes the issue.

Anybody had this issue before? Any other remedies, or success with the CLR? I already took the valve out, but I'd like to finish this up quickly. Online has some valves that look similar, but I'm not sure if I need the exact model number of my valve.

Did you try turning it off and back on?

I imagine that's some some of electronic valve and cleaning it won't do much good. You'll need a new part but the appliance expert should chime in soon.

It seems like a simple device with two solenoid actuated valves. Common online theory is that mineral deposits prevent the valve from fully closing. I was going to rig up something to get the cleaner into the valve and cycle through with the valve open.

My problem is not replacing the valve. If it was available, I'd do that in a heartbeat. But it seems to be unavailable, even from Whirlpool.

It's possible but the water should be pretty soft in Walker.

Get the part number (there shouldn't be much difference in the valves the Duets use) and check on ebay. I had to replace my front load washer pump motor this week. Got it on Ebay with 2 day delivery (for an 11 year old washer). Just about any part you can think of is out there.

Does it look similar to this? If so it is $35 on Ebay right now with free shipping.

What's the difference between your mom and a washing machine?

When I drop a load in the washer it doesn't follow me around for a week.
