The title sounds simple but I have been trying to figure out this crap for the past 4 hours and can't get it to work. I can't be the only person that has gone through this.

Basically my objective is to take all of my music from itunes and import it into an app/desktop program that syncs with my galaxy s4 and plays the music etc. I dont want to pay for an app (Call me cheap but I shouldnt have to pay $5.00 to listen to music).

Google play is retarded and does not have a true desktop program like itunes. You basically have music in the cloud meaning (I believe) you have to have data or internet connection to play the music.

I have tried doubletwist but you have to root your phone for a galaxy s4 to allow usb mass storage for it to sync your phone.

Does anyone have a solution for this. I feel retarted. Like I said I am not trying to do anything complicated. Move my itunes library to a program with a desktop interface and app on the galaxy where I can play music. Pretty much what is the itunes of Android?

I just save my music on my MicoSD card in my S4 via the USB/Mini USB cable from my PC but I am not sure how you can do that with iTunes music due to Apple's DRM policy.

Copy the music from iTunes to a folder, then copy the folder to the Music folder of your S4,just did this a week ago.

Then what app do you use to play the music? Im looking for something in anyway similar to itunes where I can use an interface on both my phone and desktop to organize and listen to music.

Also when you download new music do you basically have to connect your phone and drag the music to the music folder everytime?

Google Music, use the desktop google music manager from Googles website to download your itunes library to you google account.

It takes 2 seconds, but hours to upload it all.

If you stole all your music it will be easy. If you bought your music recently, when DRM was gone, it will be easy. But if your music is DRM-protected you might just have to go replace it (probably steal it).

Google Music.

Okay so say I use google music. Is there a desktop interface similar to Itunes to organize all of my music where I would not have to have internet connection to get to my library?

Also once I have all of my music in google music how do I save all of that music to my actual device and not just have it in the cloud? If I am camping and have no data or service how would I play music for the phone?

Yes and no, you'll need the internet as it streams the music but music.google.com is the desktop interface.

I stole it all so I know it should be easy and thought it should be easy.

I dont understand how or why android does not have a comparable standard to itunes. And don't give me the google music answer because I feel like a bunch of three year olds put this together.

My point exactly. Why would I want something that requires the internet to listen to my music ha?

Google Music is awesome, you download the music manager desktop program and with one click it uploads all of your iTunes library and other music you choose to the cloud where you can then access it on your phone and stream it or choose to download it directly to your phone, or choose to download only your most recent listens to your phone for offline play.

You can then just go to music.google.com and there is all of your music and album covers etc you can play.

I love it personally.

When is your computer not connected to the internet? Do you live in 2002?

Ultimate I appreciate all of your responses. This has frustrated the hell out of me.

I guess my last two questions would be how do I select which songs to download directly onto my phone so I always have them. If I am always streaming then I will use up all of my data.

Camping, on the beach, somewhere where wifi has a password and I don't know it. I meant more for my phone than my computer but applies to both.

Settings within the Google Music app on your phone and check "Automatically Cache".

Just use iTunes for offline play still on your computer?
