So have a friend that does yearly fundraisers for travel ball. Usually its a jambalaya dinner, raffle, something like that.

In past I have contributed out of guilt but Im tired of supporting this shite.

Its bad enough they waste money on travel ball but really grinds my gears that they guilt friends into helping.

Hate to lose a friend over this but its getting annoying.

Do you have kids? If so, ask him to contribute to your kids' vacation several times a year.

Learn to say no, doormat. If they are good friends it will have zero impact.

If yalls "friendship" can end over something like this I wouldn't consider it a friendship.

I don't see anything wrong with a dinner being sold or even a raffle. It's the super trashy people begging on the side of the road that piss me off. Also, the kid better come sell me that raffle ticket not the parent. Lazy little bastards.

My personal favorite is the dad who signs his son up for travel ball, and bitches about having to travel.

If they're actually selling dinners, I don't really mind. At least I can feed myself and they can spend the money on their travel team.

However, the raffles or just straight up donating, is complete bullshite. I won't get anything back in return and I don't care about your son's travel ball enough to just throw money at it. That's what his parents should be doing.

The worst ones are the little boys at the intersections asking for donations for their "basketball team". Not to mention how dangerous it is to put your 8 or 10 year old in traffic on Old Hammond and Airline intersection, or some other busy intersection.

I can barely afford to keep my kids fed and my wife high. No extra scratch for your white trash extracurriculars.

Is his jambalaya any good? I'll pay 7 bucks for a decent plate of jambalaya.

Atleast he isn't showing up to your doorstep with a bucket

If they're just walking around asking for money, frick that. If they're cooking a nice jambalaya dinner, what's the harm in tossing 5 or 10 bucks? Helps them and you get a nice meal.

i guess my thing is, if I'm getting something enjoyable in return I wouldn't have a problem. Just begging for charity and wanting money for nothing is offputting.
