About a year ago the same thing happened to our 18 month old lg. Go google lg fridge issues. There are pages and pages of problems with them.
Starts withe freezer. Then whole fridge.
We had two techs out over three weeks and it never was better.
Finally argued with Lowe’s long enough that the extended warranty people refunded all of our original purchase price.
We went to a local place and got a Frigidaire.

fingers crossed, but i bought a samsung french door unit about 5 years ago and haven't had any issues with it to date

All the ice makers I've had with freezers came with an adjustable water inlet to limit the size of cubes. Perhaps yours is off a bit and needs to be adjusted down if it is making cubes too big for the icemaker to clear them from the tray.
Check u-tube videos for info on how to do it, but it is very simple to do.

Well really all new fridges suck it's why I replaced my 2012 Amana with a 1998 Sub Zero. My old Sub zero is controlled by a $20 timer.
I can fix anything on it and on built in wood front fridges you can't really tell the age.
Energy Star ruined fridges.
They don't last and they have too many options.
I see no need for anything outside an ice maker

Almost all icemakers that are in the fridge section are problematic.
At least they have gotten better.

My LG has the kind that looks like an ice tray that flips. The ice won't come out so it just dumps more water all over the place every time. Terrible design.

I have a Frigidaire that I have had for ten years and knock on wood it has been good. I had a issue with the seals on the fridge door and some duck tape fixed the problem (I know trashy but it worked and you can't see it). It was real dusty and had dog hair underneath. I cleaned that up with my yard blower. Blew all that crap all over my kitchen but the fridge is 100% clean.

Napoleon, looking at a Frigidaire Pro FPBS2777RF. Looks like I can get it for 2300 and maybe less with a July 4 deal. Thoughts? I know you've said good things about Frigidaire in the past, but I was curious if you had any issues with this model. Most of what I read is about the ice maker in the freezer drawer.

LOL..I did have a coil brush but it "disappeared" and my vacuum doesn't have the crevice attachments. I know it was a red neck fix..but it worked. It was a minute to clean up the kitchen.

Is it still under warranty? Make LG fix it. Sounds like a manufacturer defect to me

Too new for me to have seen much of, but I'm a fan of the brand and repair and parts on them is lower than competition

My folks had the exact same problem with their LG. Cost them $400 because it wasn’t covered by the warranty.
Solution: get rid of that Korean POS and go buy an American-made GE or Whirlpool.

Ge is owned by Haier a Chinese company and is a lesser product than LG.

What amazes me is that man has been making refrigerators for over 100 years and in ways they are worse now than before.
It makes no sense to me, other than it has been done purposely by the manufacturers. And mean why make something that will last a lifetime, if you can make something that people will buy and breaks within the decade?

Well the early fridges were super efficient but Anhydrous Ammonia is really bad for you.
Though I still come across people who have working 50's era fridges.
Ovens are another thing that went from being impossible to break to breaks all the time due to safety and convenience add ons.
