Anyone else hearing this?, if so where is it? I heard both Jackson Square outside and Preservation Hall.

Usher will take the stage at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30 in the Jax Bewery parking lot, according to Allstate Fan Fest. The concert is held one day before Oklahoma takes on Ole Miss in the 2016 Sugar Bowl.
The concert is free to the public and will also be streamed on TIDAL, a music streaming website.

Champions Square is a big outdoor concert venue next to the Superdome. I'm guessing its there.

You don't say?
The fan zone stuff is a big outdoor venue set up in the quarter (where the fans are every day outside of pregame on game day) and they host the concerts there every year
My only question was if he was trying to talk about some secret show with the talk of preservation hall in the OP

It's on Decatur across from Jackson square. I live right around the corner. So I'll sit on the back patio with a beer and skip the crowds. 
Edit: I don't mean that space next to Cafe Du Monde when I said "across from Jackson Square". Its over by Jax Brewery.
