It looks as if we'll all have to find another place to hang out on Sundays and be entertained by the people loading boats on trailers. The owner died a few days ago, and they've announced "closed until further notice"

Here's to the good old days.

Boat traffic just doesn't seem like it used to be.

Now everybody out there in loud arse flatboats with surface drives or center consoles.

Fewer cokehead powerboats with silicone decorations on the back.

His kids already own the food place next door right?

They probably have to settle the business/succession first before reopening

Honestly it a terrible business move this time of the year in LA

ETA: wait…who owned it these days?

Not the same people.

The owner of Fred's, David Rosato(?), sold the business to this new guy, Josh Burns. David still owns the building.

Josh had really turned the place around with bringing smiling bartenders and a lot of live music back.

Jesus. I know his little sister Jordan. She posted on FB asking everyone to quit spreading rumors about how he died, I wasn’t about to ask but this makes sense since I’m sure suicide was in question. Never knew him but this sucks.

Uhhhhh, you don't accidentally shoot yourself in the head if you intentionally put one to your head and pull the trigger. It's the exact opposite of an accident.

Horrible story, RIP.

I don't deny that, but putting a gun to your head and pulling the trigger is something I've never heard anyone do.

It's beyond just doing stupid shite.

Always amazed at how many people are willing to put a gun to their head, pull the trigger, and expect to live.
