People in their late 20s and older are so, so very lucky that social media wasn't what it is now when they were in college.
Go to any fraternity, any sorority, any dorm room, any on campus apartment, any house party, any bar...and there will be people doing or saying "racist" things. Half the school would be expelled if everything they said was caught on camera and put on the internet. This is so stupid.

I definitely remember exchange/mixer events with themes that would today be considered "racist". We paid people to take pictures (party pics) and we still didn't have to worry about this crap 
. No one ever did anything like black face, but baggy pants and a tall tee were not uncommon.
