It wouldn't surprise me if it is, but Fox squirrels have several different appearances. These are both Fox squirrels and I've seen both types in my yard, though not often. Very cool looking.

I saw one for the first time a couple of weeks ago.
I wasn't too close but it seemed reddish...like a fox.
That damn thing was adorable bouncing through the field to the woods.

The golf courses near Destin, Fl is only place I've seen squirrels like the first picture. Weird raccoon looking things.
