Nexstar officials would not say exactly how much more they want Cox to pay to carry their programming, citing a company policy to not discuss retransmission rates.

WGMB, the Baton Rouge Fox affiliate; WBRL, the Baton Rouge CW station; KADN, the Lafayette Fox station; and KLAF, the Lafayette NBC affiliate, went off Cox at 11:59 p.m. Friday because of a battle over how much Nexstar wants Cox to pay for including its programming as part of a basic cable package.

Can't thing of a single thing I watch on fox, so don't care.

It's these piss ant local stations that is the problem btw, yes cox sucks, but in these cases it's not them.

It's a Nexstar vs. Cox pissing match. The same thing's happening here in Vegas with the CBS affiliate. LINK

KLAS is trying to scare people by saying "you could miss the Super Bowl." Like folks can't get antennas or don't have hundreds of places in Vegas to watch the game.

Is it just me or does these failed negotiations seem to happen a lot more on Cox than anywhere else? Had Charter for years before moving to BR and don't remember this ever happening with them.

I remember a friend's wife that was pissed when Dish stopped carrying HGTV. She was switched to uverse before they could straighten it out.
Probably 3 years ago.

Is cox going to discount my bill to make up for the missing chanels that they promised me when I signed up?

I can't speak for Cox but Nexstar doesn't seem to be hurting... LINK

Nexstar Broadcasting posted a 42.6% increase in net revenue from Q3 2014 to a record $224.9 million for Q3 2015.

The company more than made up for the 86% decrease in political revenue to $2.6 million, attributed to 2015 not being a national election year.

Retransmission fee revenue jumped 96.5% to $80 million, while local and national ad revenue were up 33.7% and 48.2%, respectively, to $88 million and $37.9 million. Core revenue climbed 37.8% to $125.9 million. Digital media revenue also saw a 55.6% boost to $20.1 million.

I just called Cox and they credited me for all the services for today. It was only $5 but it is better than letting them make us suffer for their inability to negotiate effectively. They also said if it stays off of the air until Monday to call back and it they will extend the credit.

Hope this helps.

Is this the same company who owns the BR NBC channel that was off air for the same reason?
