In fact, the feature film, Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) (a fictionalized account of the 1947 Judges Trials, as well as briefly touching on the Berlin Airlift - and one of the best films ever made) was the first occasion that actual film from the camps was seen by a wide U.S. audience, although there had been examples such as the film you linked, other short snippets and still photographs.

1234567VFL: you are not alone in your argument. until recently, my way of thinking on this subject was aligned with all of those who are mocking you in this thread. i have always had a keen interest in both world wars and all of the circumstances leading up to them; and all that has happened as a result of the conflicts. a quote comes to mind that i find apt for some of your detractors: "to learn who rules over you, find out who it is that is beyond criticism."

The 6 million tally is a rough estimate, but about as accurate as we'll ever hope to get to the true number. The sad truth of the matter is we'll never know the exact number of people the Nazis exterminated. What's beyond doubt though is the Nazis murdered people in the millions and somewhere around roughly 6 million of them were Jews that were killed for no other reason than they were guilty of being Jewish.

I'm not sure we're ready to pivot from 60 years of scholarship based on one film (admittedly I was unfamiliar with it until your reference).

I still see approximately 11 million total victims (Jews, Poles, Gypsies, other ethnic groups and Soviet POWs), with up to 1 million children, overall, and 1 million at Auschwitz alone.

Part of the problem with the revisionism is that the Nazis kept impeccable records for as long as that was feasible. Yeah, stuff broke down in April and May of '45, but before then, you can dig through the logs and determine how many were processed, how many were detained, how much Zyklon-B they were ordering and using, the capacity of the showers/ovens, and then just count the survivors to figure out how many are missing.

You have to accept that either A. The Germans killed 11 million people (roughly 6 million European Jews), B. The Allies did it and framed the Germans for it, or C. Aliens kidnapped them and took them to a magical Jewish planet.

Historical evidence says it's "A."
