The investigation started at the end of May after kids found a box of guns on the curb within the Central Police area, appearing to be left for trash. There were other items in the box, the chief said.
The items were traced and were supposed to have been in Baton Rouge Police evidence.

Given the cops, judges, and DA, I’m guessing a lot of those guys had the charges dismissed but never got their guns back.

What kind of IDIOT leaves something like that on the curb in front of your own house? At a minimum, find a remote bridge that is not monitored by a camera, and dump them in the creek or river. Then run/drive like hell away from the place and swear on your mother's grave that you've never been there.
Because I'm not a criminal, that idea may be just as stupid, but at least I, the figurative criminal, made some attempt to get the incriminating evidence away from my F'n house!
