People are always talking about how their pet is like a member of their family, but they are bought and sold like property.

How much money would it take for you to sell your pet?

All my current pets are rescues, they can be had if you can pry them from my cold, dead, hands.

Mine are just like family

Hardheaded
Don't listen
Narcissistic
Need to brush their teeth and bathe
Don't clean up their messes
Fight with each other
Needy as hell when it comes to their personal attention

I feel sure if my family members could lick their privates, they would.

If I still had her, I wouldn't take anything for my dog. Matter of fact, I'd give anything to have her back!

No way I'd be able to sell my dog. I wouldn't be able to live with myself.

I wouldn’t sell my pet. He’s a part of the family.

A very selfish thing to do. If you had had your dog for any length of time and then just up and sell them, you are not the thinking about that pets feelings at all. Bottom line:::: if you don’t want a pet, then don’t get a pet.

Sold a lab for $16,000 to a country singer that we brought hunting with us last year. He said he wanted it and to name my price. I did and he bought it. I don't think he realized that we had 4 more just as good, if not better, in the kennels.

It'd take more than any sensible person would pay. I mean sure, if someone offered me something like a million bucks, just a number for an example, I would let my dog go but no one in their right mind would pay that for an 11 year old mutt.

They could just go to a shelter and get the same thing only younger for a couple hundred bucks I would imagine

We had some cats a while back. Too many in fact.

You could have had a couple for 350 each.

Inside Outside cats, eventually something or other got them all. Miss 1 or 2 of them. One was a Hemingway cat

People forget what money is for. Its so you can have things like an awesome pet not the reverse.

No wonder they are lonely.

OK, so if you won't sell your pet then how much would you be willing to spend on medical bills?

I'm not dropping 10K on doggie surgery.

That question depends on a lot of other factors.

How much debt do I have?
How much would a financial windfall change my families life?
How much would that windfall be?

If I had a blue collar job and no real way to save - and a guy offered me enough money to pay off my home, my vehicles, all my medical bills, and college for every one of my kids…

That pet is gone.

Anyone who says otherwise does not love their family.

In my current state, I have no financial needs so I would not sell my pet for any amount. But I am not going to pretend it makes me a great person.

Not bought here. Went to shelter and go an older cat because kittens and puppies find homes sooner than older ones. I would not sell at all.
