Actually now that I'm using it more I kind of like the ads on the right.

I have never once clicked on an ad accidentally. Either on mobile or desktop

meh, seems like you are nitpicking...

I don't understand why the ads being on one side or the other is untouchable. Seems like most of the users like them on the left (I tend to agree), so what is the harm in placing them on the left?

I think the bar on the left where the board list was makes the threads easier to read. you take that away and the bulk of the thread is pushed up against the side of your screen, assuming your browser window is maximizes, he harder on your eyes and you just arent used to it.

Chicken, sometimes depending on the add on the top and their colors, the quick links can seem to get a little lost. Maybe more space between the two or a border of some sort to give more separation of the two.

guess I'm used to the menu down the left side of the screen. Would take getting used to. Would be nice if the menu of boards floated down the screen as you scrolled....even if it was at the top, perhaps is could float down like the freeze panes function in excel

Still want the floating custom bar to flow with the page to make it easier to click on which forum you want.

I like the ability to add "My Forums," but I would probably prefer them on the tool bar, and have the entire list on a drop down box.. I don't mind it the way it is though.

I guess it's my personal preference, but I like the ads on the left side more. May just the old way has the text/ads on the left side and I'm just used to it, but having the text predominately on the left side is just strange. I'm sure it'll grow on me.

Overall pretty good!

One request- when you click on a thread, it would be nice to be taken to the first unread post automatically. That feature makes a forum so much better to use, in my opinion.

Can't you just click on the last post, to the right side of the forum listing? That's what I do. Your post was the first (last) one for me to see...

That brings you to the last post in the thread. What I meant was a click that would bring you to the first post in the thread that you hadn't read, regardless of how many posts have been made since you checked the thread. Hope that makes sense.

I for one like the layout. I like the ability to choose how I want to view posts. (Plus, the mystery of the "trending" algorithm gives us a challenge to figure out what in the frick it is.)

As a desktop user, I like the ability to choose which forums are relevant to me, but I do not like how they're not permanently displayed in a side-nav panel and that I have to click to expand the list.

Agreed. The ad in the right pane has no problem floating down as you scroll, the forum menu should too.

I asked this years ago. Thought for sure it would be implemented by now. Just about every other forum I post on has this feature. I can either click on the title and be taken to the first post, or click on a little symbol, usually a dot, to the left of the thread title and be taken to my first unread post. It would really help on lengthy threads where you're not sure where you left off.
