I started using the cheap hot dogs to hide pills in. Put in microwave for like 10 seconds. Cut in pieces and push them in.
My 2 love them

Get a bottle of ivamec/ivomec. 1 cc every 15 days for a 70 lb dog on a piece of bread. Bottle is less than 100$ and lasts 18 months or more.

I use petbucket.com out of the UK, but same principle. Takes about a month from my Revolution but is half the price

I just give my two Goldens Ivomec. It's the cheapest heartworm solution there is for dogs.

Just FYI ivomec is very harmful to some dogs.. I've always heard don't give it to the herding breeds.

Do the heartworm shot. I pay $30 for my pug and $50 for my lab and it lasts 6 months.
My vet is not a fan of the heartworm shots - she advised against it for my pair of Havanese.

I haven't researched what you have posted, but does this also take care of fleas?

I treat my yard, but I believe my neighbor behind me doesn't do anything for his two labs and I've experienced flea infiltration in my yard last year for the first time since living here (treating my yard has certainly helped).
