1. If your child is above the age of 10 and is noticeably lagging behind other children their age:

- Your child just may not be that good in that particular activity and you as an adult should be able to recognize it and persuade your child to find another activity, like art.

2. Dancing, whether it is recreational, performance or competitive:

- No boys should allowed to dance. It is not cute to watch a little or young boy perform moves like a female. Later on in life, sure, he can do whatever he wants, but no parent, and especially father's, should encourage their son to want to dance like and with girls at a dance company.

That is all for now.

Edit ...

Love the down votes ... you bunch of sissies. Is today going to be known as "Sensitive Sunday?"

Go ahead and tell the story that prompted this.

I see you are still dealing with the scars from your childhood.

# 2 rule wins out. Since the boy will often turn out liberal, see rule # 1 suggestion, take up another activity ... like art.

Having to witness (again this year for the 8th year in a row) this weekend and two weekends ago watching dance performances, enough is enough with the little boy acts.

Dancing, at this age, should be for little girls only. Just like football. A little boy should not be prissy or sassy - at all. And I don't think the majority of people watching this either want to see it in a dance. Find another way for him to express himself.

Do you have a little boy that takes dance?

I apologize if I have upset you on this Sunday morning.

I feel like nothing bad has ever come from an overbearing "macho" father pushing their son away from the things he likes into the things the father thinks he should like

And it definitely won't crush him into a flaming homo who blows everyone and anyone when he finally breaks out from the parental pressure

Damn, this is such a shitty post from you.

Not every parent wants their kid to be the next Jeter, Lebron, or Messi. How about letting kids have fun and be physically active instead of sedentary?

So if my son is good at dance and loves it, I should remove him? You sound like an insecure little bitch.

Art, as an alternative activity, was an example.

There's soccer, football, basketball, tennis, golf, bowling, baseball, wrestling, swimming and skateboarding that could also be explored and perhaps, encouraged by their parent(s).

Dance recitals are brutal to endure regardless of whether your kid is male, female, good, or terrible.

FWIW OP, I agree with rule #2. I've never understood why people think their male children performing scripted or rehearsed dance moves to be cute. I find it very off putting. But I dont have kids so I can be an arbitrary dick.

He certainly was the exception. His mother was a dance instructor and choreographer.

The fat arse parents that continue to bring nachos topped with cheese, processed, frozen and pre-breaded chicken fingers, along with diet Cokes into the theater, where not allowed, are not.

So if your kid absolutely loves baseball, but is not very good, you should tell him to quit and find something else? I'd rather teach my kid to work hard and overcome.

As a youth sports coach, there is nothing better than watching the least talented kid on the team succeed, and the spectators and teammates would agree.

Your attitude is what is killing youth sports and turning parents away.
