Flowers for a 1st date?

I couldn't think of a better place to go for advice for a first date than the OT. I'm going on a date with a IRL 9 and OT 4 tomorrow night. It was suggested to me by a mutual friend (girl) that I should bring flowers when I pick up my date. I've never given flowers on a first date. So what are the opinions of the experts of the OT?
