Flea/Tick spray worked dang well

Frontline has been getting worse on my dog and I finally decided to use something my vet recommended and came in Thursday from Amazon. Its Dr GreenPet 32oz All Natural flea and tick spray. Now my dog never gets ticks but fleas all the time. Only thing is my vet told me to spray it on him every 10 days during flea season. After the first application, his fleas are in fact gone. And even better, the four main ingredients: clove oil, cinnamon oil, cedar oil, and peppermint oil smells great vs frontline. I'll update it during the week to see how its effectiveness is still doing.

Any one of those oils will work the same by itself. All essential oils work the same. Must be properly diluted of course.

Good luck with the new spray. We have been using Revolution topical for the fleas and it has worked well. Never had a need for tick medication, but then we took the dogs on a trip to Missouri and one of them came into contact with horse ticks.
We were able to remove the ticks, but then ten days after we were home I found another. I was concerned about the length of time the tick was attached to the dog so I brought him to the vet as the dog was lethargic and had vomited for three days.
Well, radiology and blood work back ok for any lyme disease or other parasitic disease. But, the potassium and calcium levels were WAY OUT OF WHACK. So, we did ACTH test and found out the dog has Addison's.
The tick did not cause a problem but probably saved the dog's life.

Do you spray your yard?

unless you live in rural areas, and live more in suburbs, no reason to apply any tick or flea stuff.
When we go to my aunts, in the woodland areas of Missouri, well get her a frontline treatment, a few days before.
But other than that, its a waste of $$$. The vet said as much.

Have you looked into Trifexis?
And what are you doing to help treat your yard?

I had poor results on my GSP using that. May try this. Thanks OP!

all zee time. I used Spectracide Bug Stop. Works great on all but one fence line. And that is where my neighbor has their 5 dogs and a lot of tall grass on their side of the fence.

I'll never use Trifexis. I have had so many people I know told me it has failed on fleas and heartworms. My cousin had to put her 2 yr old German down due to it being so riddled with heartworms yet was on it. Also found out that for most heartworm/flea preventatives that Collies, Germans, Shelties, Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, and Whippets cant use them as their blood brain barrier can be compromised and it can cause death within 72 hours from administration.

THIS!
Doesn't matter what you do to the dog if you aren't treating the yard.
