This is exactly why I don't work out.

Irony and life is chuckling at Bob. Too many workout fanatics are as Type A and intense as workaholics. That kind of personality is not healthy for anyone.

There is no winning in life. It's an illusion. No one here gets out alive. It's just a question of when and how.

Smoked for almost half his life. Had a genetically enlarged heart. His father and grandfather died at early ages. It's not like exercising alone killed him.

Exercise can make your heart healthier. Diet/lifestyle are also very important. If it worries you, ask your primary care physician and then get a referral to a cardiologist if needed.

Could very well be.

John Ritter had a condition like this that went unnoticed when he passed away.

keep high heart rate workouts under 20 minutes. Your heart has a shelf life and working it too hard is hazardous for your health.

When I hear shite like this about people who work their arse off to be healthy and then suffer from heart issues it's a really bummer. Wtf am I doing busting my arse on the treadmill if I'm going to die on it in ten years?

I think genes perhaps play a bigger role. Certain people are just put together better than others. No amount of exercise can fix that.

I started eating two bananas, a bowl of oatmeal, and two carrots every day and cut out all fast food, carbonated beverages and most junk food candies, yet I can't tell you that I feel any different than I did when I was eating like crap. All the articles of "this is what happens to your body after 10 days of fast food" are BS.

Yeah, I want to know exactly what kind of workout he was doing when it happened. Anything to the extreme can be bad.

I hate to break it to you, but sugary fruit and grains is also "crap" - arguably worse than the fast food you were eating. If you want to try again with real non crap food, report back.

I was shocked at the glycemic load for bananas.

Isn't there a lot of controversy around the Biggest Loser and the methods they use, including drugs?

Well, yeah. But fruits are high in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. To completely avoid them is foolish. Bananas are dangerous for someone who is diabetic, but they are very healthy for "regular" people.
