I hate to break it to you, but sugary fruit and grains is also "crap" - arguably worse than the fast food you were eating. If you want to try again with real non crap food, report back.

It's not breakfast/lunch/dinner, but it is what I eat in place of junky snacks like candy bars and potato chips.

Sometimes other fruits or vegetables outside of bananas/carrots, but point being, I am trying to introduce better foods into my diet. I would not say that I eat a great diet. Almost no one eats a truly healthy diet these days (just one coke puts you over the recommended amount of sugar per day), but it's certainly better than what it used to be. Even if I don't benefit from it, I'm not hurting myself or taking a risk the way I was with what I used to eat.

That's cool and it's getting close to beach season. I get it. But guys start cutting and they either look great or look like shite. Either way both probably end up less healthy than they were.

Carbs aren't your enemy. It's okay to limit them, but keep in mind that carbs promote healthy digestion, keep your immune system strong, promote brain health, and keep your heart healthy.

Nah, that's a shite storm. Instead, have some salmon, cheese and eggs.

I hear you and commend you. It's just that "oatmeal with fruit" really is terrible for you. It is almost certainly causing an insulin reaction, which is what you should be trying to avoid. Have an egg and some cheese instead.

To completely avoid them is foolish. Bananas are dangerous for someone who is diabetic, but they are very healthy for "regular" people.
You should eat the lowest carb fruits you can find - and even then in moderation. Bananas and tropical fruits are essentially just sugar bombs. The bits of nutrition they do have are not worth the insulin reaction.

They claim he over does it, when working out.

And that this was bound to happen, if he continued going all out, every work out.

Our bodies aren't made to constantly workout or become gigantic. It puts a lot more stress on you than eating fast food ever will. Everything in life is about moderation.

I'm aware of the existing propaganda. It's bullshite. #3 is absurd - yes, fiber is potentially beneficial. No, spiking insulin is not beneficial. You can easily get your fiber from green vegetables. #9 is stupid too. If you eat what I recommended (fish/cheese/eggs) then you will have greatly reduced hunger pangs while also not having a sugar spike.

Bingo, by far the biggest factor for heart disease- followed by age, sex (males more prone), smoking, stress and diet.

Wtf am I doing busting my arse on the treadmill if I'm going to die on it in ten years?

we don't know what levels he was attempting.

we don't know what levels you are doing.

once upon a time, all my co-workers who were in the same stressful work group nationally went to get EKG's on the treadmill under MD supervision.

Over a year, I was the only one out of 9 guys who did not have to be pulled off the treadmill and given a root-router treatment.

I surmise that running at full blast up an incline on a treadmill is going to test you big time and bring out the weak elements in your system.
all guys in 50's and 60's. the test for my age was to run at 165 hr for 12 minutes.
I did not run at full blast to get to that heart rate.
