i have fond memories of taking my kids to disney in 2009..it was during the ncaa baseball playoffs and i was newly divorced with custody.

this was a cathartic trip for us, i would pass the time in line checking the baseball score as LSU proceeded to demolish their way into the world series and shout out the current score to other people in line with LSU gear on.

good times. good memories.

My old neighbor works for sea world and got us passes for that. Had no idea it was that pricey.

Not only pricey, but you have to reserve a time - only so many folks allowed daily. Never waited in a line and the swim with dolphins thing was great.

I'm with 2 other families that come several times a year. Everything is planned out and mapped out.

My kids are having a good time, but Disney is not really their thing.

The wife said we had to take them at least once just to say they've been. Keepin up with the Jonses I guess.

So what are you waiting in line for then?

Seems like a good reason to drop $5K.

We went last year during Mardi Gras. It was surprisingly busy. My son has Type 1 diabetes and we got a medical pass. We "fast-passed" the entire week. Didn't stand in line.

Well, you didn't do an ounce of research then. Mardi Gras is one of their busiest weeks.

I don't know if I've ever seen someone post the dancing banana in regards to their kid's medical condition.

We did. It was just busier than we thought.

He's been through a lot. He deserved a break in life and so did we. No standing in line =

They're 7 and 9. They like beaches and outdoors, it'll be the Bahamas and Caribbean from here on out. Oh, and maybe Mexico.

Absolutely.

I worked in Disney World during college from May to August. The entire month of July was over ran with Brazilian teenagers. Once, I saw a black single mother get in a shoving match with them while in line for Splash Mountain. The teens we cutting in front of everyone and that mom wasn't having it.

Cool. I was just kind of curious. 7 & 9 are prime Disney ages. If they're not into it now they'll never be.

It used to not be as packed. It's far from one of the busiest weeks though. You have Last two weeks of December and First two of July way up there, then every summer week, then thanksgiving, then the week of Halloween, then Spring Break, then Thanksgiving, then the first week of Janurary, then Mardi Gras.
