See that grainy picture up above? That’s Qatar’s A350 landing at Philadelphia International Airport for the very first time. While the plane officially launched from the US with a JFK departure on December 10, this is the first regular scheduled flight. As of now, the A350 will fly from PHL to Doha every day of the week.

Good luck with that.

Like Airbus, the American state and psyche was basically built by a European consortium. As proud as I am of Boeing as a international icon of the US, I have and would fly on a major airline's Airbus products any day.

I've been on a couple of A380 flights, I'm looking forward to flying on the A350 as well.

Total ripoff of a Boeing 787.....nice cabin appointments but looks generic as hell on the outside, like most Airbus products.

Well it's not a fighter jet. And it's pretty tough to say the 380 looks generic.

Well....yeah bro. No fighter jet looks but it was built very quickly in response to the 787. A380 is flying beluga whale. Have you been on one?!? Business class is superb but the rest is like a
Claustrophobic cattle car. Plus it takes forever to load/unload that pile.

Well the terrorists will have a nice plane ride coming from the ME. It's obvious the WH has no plans to stop them.

I use to work for United out of DIA...most of the mechanical delays were the airbuses. Not a huge fan of them.

Hmmm, I've flown the A380 and my experience was quite different. Loading and unloading was considerably faster than typical overseas widebodies given that upstairs had its own jetway and downstairs had a front and rear jetway. And the seats in coach were wider and more legroom than I've experienced elsewhere. Maybe that was the Emirates configuration and you were on another carrier.

I'm a Boeing guy all the way, but the A380 is a pleasure.
I've yet to fly the 787 but I hope to this spring.

You must not fly much if you limit yourself to only Boeing jets.

whats weird to me is it flew straight over the atlantic. when I would fly to qatar on qatar airways, we would fly up the east coast, over greenland/iceland,over the norwegian shite thru russia etc.

If you fly any US airline it's pretty easy to only take Boeing flights. Especially Delta and of course Southwest with an all 737 fleet.

It's damn near impossible to limit yourself to Boeing jets unless you only fly Southwest and never leave the country.

It's really not, though. You know they show you the aircraft type when you select flights. US airlines have a ton of Boeing flights to Europe. Delta and flights operated by their partners Air France and KLM (European airlines, believe it or not) mostly fly 767s and 777s to Europe.

If you fly regularly you'd end up butchering your schedule simply to make sure you're flying Boeing, which in the grand scheme of things is meaningless.
