I'm thinking somewhere like Superior or Oyster Bar may be the way to go

Congrats, just be yourself and have a good time. Don't force it. If you click, you click. If not, recognize it and keep it cool, and you will have made a new friend.

Cantina Laredo was my fav first date spot. Nicer than Superior but still fun atmosphere.

First rule of first dates: never take a girl to a restaurant

About three months ago I had a first date with a girl and decided to splurge and get NHL tickets here in Nashville center ice 5 rows up. She said, "why aren't we sitting on the front row?". I dated her for three months and she was selfish, inconsiderate, pushy, demanding, high maintenance. We had fun together, but she was in it for the money (I don't know why because I'm not rich).

Good choice. Plus after dinner you can walk around and get some ice cream and talk about how high the river is

Hooters. Women love that place.

And wait til the end to suggest going dutch, she'll appreciate your spontaneity.

I think a fun, activity-filled first date is better than a sit down dinner.

This is the correct answer.

95% of guys (as evidenced by this thread) do to the same old boring dinner/drinks first date. Want to rock her world? Grab some coffee and find a cool spot in the city to go walk. You both have dogs? Even better. Hit up a dog park.

Cheap. Unique. And easy to bail

The OT's new never-go-to-a-restaurant-for-first-date thing has already been overplayed to me. I don't mind bringing a girl to a restaurant/drinks for a first date, just make sure you can actually talk (not overly loud).

But I don't try to wow a girl on the first date with what I can do for her as much as who I am as a person. I get the gimmicks for people who need it.

Similar experience, that's why this came up. Met a girl at a wedding then we went skydiving the next weekend. Needless to say the bar was set too high

Shreveport, the OT's fav city

AH! If you really want to impress her, take her somewhere out of Shreveport! You'll probably get some road action as soon as you leave the city!

That just screams "I'm gonna rape you". I'd avoid the old coffee-walk-rape scenario. But that's just me.

Of course. And if you're walking in a downtown type setting and hit it off, go grab some drinks.

Go somewhere she can have fun even if you are not that cool or good looking...that way she still has fun and will associate you with fun....even if younsuck.
